"I Cannot Tell"

At church this morning, we sang a beautiful song which I don't recall ever hearing before. While typing the lyrics just now, tears came to my eyes. I hope that the beauty and message of this song bless you as much as it did me.

"I Cannot Tell"

I cannot tell why He, the King of Heaven,
Should leave the peace of all eternity,
Why God Himself should lay aside His splendor
To leave the Father's side and come to me.
But this I know: our silence filled with singing,
And all our darkness fled from heaven's light
When Christ the Lord, so human, yet so holy,
In love was born a child for me that holy night.

I cannot tell why He, the Joy of Heaven,
Should give Himself to suffer for my sin,
Why Holy God should love me in my shamefulness,
Why He should die to draw my soul to Him.
But this I know: that Christ the Lord is risen,
And praise His name, He's risen now in me!
Because He lives, I'll rise to life eternal!
He took my guilty heart, and I'm forever free!

I cannot tell when He will rule the nations,
How He will claim His loved ones as His own,
And who can tell the holy jubilation
When all His children gather 'round His throne.
But this I know: all flesh will see His glory,
And skies will burst as all creation sings.
The Son will rise on one eternal morning
When Christ, the Savior of the world, is Lord and King!

Pure Yumminess!

Desiring a little something different for lunch, a couple of weeks ago I decided, after frying an egg, to make it a little more exciting. Here's what I came up with:

Choose a few food items to add a bit of flavor to your fried egg. I chose to include sliced tommy toes, diced spring onions, bits of luncheon meat, and shredded cheese. Organizing these items on a plate ahead of time is helpful.

Making certain that your skillet is greased, add your egg to the heated skillet. After shaping it to the desired form, sprinkle the ingredients on top and season it with salt and pepper.

Allow the bottom of the egg to cook, then flip to fry the top. These tend to fall apart sometimes, but that never affects the taste! Once completely cooked, remove your creation from the skillet.

Voila! Pure Yumminess!

A Birthday Blessing

Tuesday, September 8th, was dearest Katie's 17th birthday. Although this post is a little belated, dear Katie, I want to remind you what a special blessing our friendship is to me. Your sensitive spirit and desire to glorify the Lord in all you do makes me ever-so-thankful to call you my dear friend and sister in Christ.

I pray that, as you grow closer to the Savior in your seventeenth year, the Lord will bless you with His peace and abundant joy. Always remember how much I love you, but never forget His far-surpassing love for you!

You are a beautiful young lady...always remember that you are a princess, the royal daughter of our Heavenly King!
